How to get rid of gums from clothes

You might have come across this situation where you discover gums on your clothes by accident, but don’t worry we have 10 different solutions to get rid of gum out of clothes.

It is not a pleasant time when you have bubble gum on your dress. It can be sticky and easily adheres to fabrics and materials.

1) Freeze it – one of the ways is to make the chewing gum harder so that it can easily peel off. Rub the affected area with some ice cubes once it becomes harder you can scrape the gum with a sharp object like a knife without damaging the clothes.
2) Heat it up – Heating liquid method works as well. Apply hot water on the sticky chewing gum from your clothing. Also if you can blow a hair dryer to warm the gum will loosen it and can be easily peeled
3) Ironing – Another method is by ironing the affected cloth using cardboard. Place a piece of cardboard board in between the cloth and the iron and press with little or medium heat. The whole idea is to make the gum stick to the cardboard. Once the gum is struck to the board, easily remove it. Not a difficult task but it works if you don’t overheat the iron.
4) Peanut butter method to remove – peanut butter is oily. The oil present in peanut butter acts as stain remover in several methods of removing stain. Take a scoop of peanut butter in a spoon and spread it over the struck gum area, and allow it to stay there for a little while but not too long with a butter knife easily scrape off the gum.
5) Coconut Oil – coconut oil is a wonderful remedy to soften the gum for removing from the fabrics. Put one or two teaspoons of coconut oil in a cup and heat it until it’s hot. Dip the gum affected part of the cloth into the cup use a butter knife or an old toothbrush to scape off the gum.
6) Preheat the Garment – If you see stains or marks left after peeling off the gum the solution for that is the pre-heat that part of the cloth. In a sink fill it up with warm water and a half a spoon of washing detergent and mix the water until all the detergent is completely dissolved and scrub the cloth with it until the stain is removed.
7) Lemon Juice – Try the lemon juice trick soak the cloth in some lemon water and then scrape it off with a knife and wash the cloth in a normal wash cycle.
Once you successfully removed the gum off your cloth using the above techniques wash it by hand or machine.
